Mens Te Scire
Translation: A Mind to Know You
The school motto is a modified form of the quote from St. Thomas Aquinas:
"Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know You, a heart to seek You, wisdom to find You,
conduct pleasing to You, faithful perseverance in waiting for You,
and a hope of finally embracing You. Amen."
“Education is an Atmosphere, a Discipline, and a Life” (Charlotte Mason).
Education is an Atmosphere: We aim to foster an environment of diligent scholarship and pervasive playfulness: “The most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things” (Plato).
Education is a Discipline: We aim to foster growth and formation of the whole person—intellectually, socially, and spiritually—equipping our students to light up the world!
Education is a Life: Our educators lead by virtuous example and gentle guidance in The Quest for the Good, the True, and the Beautiful.
“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel” (Socrates).
The Aquinas Classical Education Cooperative offers a rich, classical education, preparing our students to achieve excellence in higher education, and to find and flourish in their calling.
The Great Conversation-- the cycle of curiosity, diligent study, conversation, insight, and wonder is sustained by the balanced lifestyle of the university model.
A hybrid model of education, delivering three half-days per week of concentrated classroom instruction in the core disciplines of classical education, with bi-monthly afternoon arts and elective courses.
We foster a passionate and diligent pursuit of liberal arts and sciences, by immersion in "The Great Conversation" with the great thinkers of Western Civilization.
